<당신은 몰랐던 이야기>는 '우리는 아시아를 무엇으로 어떻게 이해하고 있는가?'에 대해 자문하며, 지금까지 '아시아'라는 이름으로 그려진 여러 이미지들에 대한 의문을 제기합니다. 이 전시에서 '아시아'는 지리적 구분이나 정체성을 나타내는 용어에 머물지 않고, 세계를 새롭게 바라보는 다양한 비평적 관점으로 작동합니다. 전시는 스토리텔러로서의 예술가의 역할에 집중하며, 아시아라는 지역의 장소와 맥락에 결부딘 작가들의 여러 개인적 경험들을 이끌어내고자 합니다. 이러한 접근방식을 통해 아시아라는 이름 아래 기록된 주류적 역사에서 누락된 개인의 가치와 지역의 목소리에 집중하는 기회를 마련해보고자 합니다. 또한 전시는 최근 자신들의 언어를 공고히 하면서, 젊은 세대의 일원으로서 기성 세대가 다루기 힘들다고 생각하는 문제들을 해결하고자 하는 작가들을 초대했습니다. 인종적 순수성, 국가 혹은 젠더 정체성, 이주와 소속, 죽음, 노동, 제국주의와 독재의 유산이라는 주제들이 이번 전시의 넓은 공간들 속에서 펼쳐집니다.
How Little You Know About me inquired "From what and how do we understand Asia?" and raises questions about numerous images that have been painted under the title of "Asia." In this exhibition, Asia does not remain as a term to indicate a geographical division or identity, but functions s plural and critical perspectives to perceive the world under a new light. The exhibition puts focus on the roles of the artists as storytellers and aims to draw the personal experience of the individual associated with the context and geographical location of the region. Under this approach, we intend to pro-pose a new and different perspective to give careful attention to the values and voice of individuals and regions forgotten during the course of history written under the name of Asia. The exhibition also invites artists who have recently consol-idated their language and who, as members of young gener-ations, feel invited to deal with issues that older generations may still consider difficult to address. Racial purity, national or gender, displacement and belonging, death, labor, the heritage of imperialism or dictatorships appear in an ex-hibition that unfolds through large spaces.
